Budget Breakdown: 6 Days in Siem Reap

This is the breakdown of our recent 6D5N trip to Siem Reap. The total damage to our pockets was $1,559.48 for both of us.

Flight: S$418
We flew via Jetstar Airways.

Poolside Daybeds

Hotel: S$493.85
We stayed at Golden Temple Hotel, which I highly recommend!

Khmer Curry from Temple Club

Food: USD$204.25 (S$276.01)
I ate Khmer curry every day. I’m not kidding, it’s that good. I had it with chicken, fish and shrimps, and tried both thicker and thinner versions! We also had plenty of fish amok, and WJ had a lot of beer. Although there were many restaurants selling 50-cent and USD$1 beers, we went for the ones with more attractive food (which had more expensive beers)!

Food on Pub Street is the cheapest. Fruit juices and shakes cost about USD$2 to $3.50, and we had a bowl of handmade potato chips for USD$3.50! The chips were sweet, not salty. My favourite Khmer curry from Temple Club (Balcony) cost USD$5.25. I was so tempted to order a second bowl on the last night!

Transport: $19 (S$25.68)
Our transfer to the airport was free, but we paid USD$10 for the transfer from the hotel to the airport. And we took a couple of tuk-tuks back to the hotel to and from Pub Street.

SIM card: $8 (S$10.81)
We bought one SIM card each from the airport. For 7 days unlimited data, we paid USD$4 each.

Quad Bike Adventure in Cambodia

Tours: $200 (S$270.27)
We went on a 2-day temple tour which was cost USD$80 for the both of us. That was exclusive of a tour guide, and our mode of transport was by car. The driver did tell us a little bit about the temples we were going to though!

We also took part in our first cooking class! Through the hotel, we paid USD$25 each, though you can get cheaper classes outside of the hotel!

For a 6-day trip, we took quite many tours, huh. We also went for a quad bike tour with Quad Adventure Cambodia which roughly took about 1.5 hours That cost us USD$35 each.

Misc: $45 + 12,000 riel (S$64.86)
This consisted mostly of tips, and a USD$20 donation to the random teenager who asked us for one.
