Ringing in the New Year in Okayama and Naoshima Island
Since we booked our holiday in Japan over the New Year, WJ and I decided to celebrate it like locals do - by savouring a steaming bowl of soba the night before on New Year's Eve and visiting a shrine at midnight to seek blessings for the year ahead!

A Short Getaway in Vung Tau & HCM
Just four weeks after our short trip to Ho Chi Minh, we went on another short trip back to Ho Chi Minh. But since we had five days this time, we also hopped on a minibus to nearby Vung Tau for a change of scenery, and only spent the last day in Ho Chi Minh.

Long Weekend in Ho Chi Minh
The last time we were in Ho Chi Minh, WJ and I managed to get stuck in the toilet of our hotel room. And he had to kick a hole in the door for me to crawl through to get help. Thankfully, nothing epic happened this time. We just had simple fun exploring the city!

And the end of our trip was truly epic and resulted in a giant hole in our bathroom door and me crawling out of it!

Hokkaido: Stop and Smell the Roses
Probably best known for its ski slopes in winter, Hokkaido has always been high on our list of must-go places, but we never could go at the right time (winter for snow, or summer for flowers). And although we could only go in late September this time, we booked the tickets anyway!

Jeju Island: Of Volcanoes & Waterfalls
We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly on Jeju Island - from hiking up the highest mountain in South Korea, to admiring gorgeous waterfalls, to having one of the best BBQ meals we've ever had!

Busan: Vibrant City
The main reason that drew us to Busan? The colourful Gamcheon Culture Village! And while we visited the village, the place that struck me most was the Jagalchi Market with its lively atmosphere and fascinating sea creatures.

Career Break Travel: Tokyo, Kanagawa & Saitama
After being on the road for more than 2 months, we were craving our favourite comfort food - ramen. And where better to get some than the birthplace of ramen, Japan?
