Penang in Pictures: 11 Days of Food, Wandering & Reset
11 days in Penang? So many people told us it was way too long, especially since it wasn’t our first trip. But the main goal was to eat good food, chill and reset for the new year. And we did just that.
Batik painting at Penang Batik Factory

I thought we could draw our own design with the wax, but the handkerchiefs came pre-drawn. And it made sense after because it already took us over an hour to paint it in.
Handbuilding at Penang Japanese Pottery Studio

We stumbled across this pottery studio at Hin Market and decided to give it a try. Working with clay is something that we enjoy and is very calming, so it ticked all the right boxes!
The instructors also gave us a lot of food recommendations.

Adorable meow meows in a very clean and cosy environment!

This one’s my favourite!
Strolling along Cat Beach

I stared close to the sea most of the time so that I wouldn’t get ambushed by the many cats – and there were so many we lost count!
WJ and my mum had so much fun feeding and petting them even though WJ suffered several scratches from an overzealous cat. I’m not yet at the level where I’m comfortable enough to be close to so many cats…
Eating, eating, eating
Food, glorious food!
