The Best Night Markets in Hua Hin for the Gluttons and Arty-farty Travellers
Night markets are inherently a part of Thailand’s culture and are also what most tourists look forward to when visiting. While Hua Hin is not really that big, there are 2 night markets that you need to visit.
Hua Hin Night Market
The market is within walkable distance from the Hua Hin train station and is the biggest in the town. Although it doesn’t have the huge variety of goods like those in Bangkok, it has a decent selection of seafood restaurants lining the middle street. The night market spans 3 streets and the middle one is where all the seafood restaurants gather.
Business starts as early as 6pm daily and peaks by 8pm with bars popping up behind the stalls on the frontline. But don’t expect the level of energy to be the same as Bangkok! Hua Hin is more laidback which is actually a good thing for those trying to escape the busy city life.

Cicada Market
The Cicada Market is obviously newer but by no means lacking in terms of scale. It’s like the Art Box of Hua Hin. You can find art, handmade crafts and lots of hipster stuff here. The night market is split into 4 sections – Art a la Mode, Art Indoors, Art of Act and Art of Eating.
Art a la Mode is basically the majority of the outdoor booths. Goods ranging from clothes, souvenirs and home decor to handmade stuff.
Art Indoors is the only sheltered 2 storey building there which is impossible to miss. There’s a art gallery in there along with a few small booths selling knick knacks. There’s also a bakery in there specialising in scrumptious pineapple goods!
Art of Eating, is a giant open-air food court in the middle of the night market. ‘Same same but different’ in concept as most other night markets but the free-seating in a garden setting sets itself apart. The choices range from western steaks and pasta to local delights like curry and tom yum. There’s also a bar and beer garden for a good pint or two.
Art of Act, last but not least consists of an open-air amphitheatre hosting weekly performances by local artists and an open stage for those eager to showcase their talents.
